In addition to screening films, the ttff seeks to facilitate the growth of the Caribbean film industry by hosting workshops, panel discussions, seminars and networking opportunities. Here is a list of industry initiatives taking place at the ttff/15.

HOW ANIMATION AND VFX CAN GIVE YOUR FILM A PROVOCATIVE EDGE

Saturday 19 September
Hyatt Regency Trinidad
9am to 12noon

Many filmmakers often rely solely on the perspective of the cameraman and a good script to capture an audience with their storytelling. For many local filmmakers, the use of animation or visual effects is something they consider better for big-budget features or cartoons.

Oftentimes, however, the use of small bits of these techniques can completely transform the impact of a story and allow filmmakers to add a touch of visual fantasy to their production. In this workshop, a panel of experts will demonstrate how different techniques: compositing, animation and visual effects, can enhance the look and storytelling elements of your next film project.

Moderator – Camille Selvon-Abrahams

Panelists
Christopher Guinness
Brett Lewis
Michael Richards
Nicholas Maxwell

This workshop takes place in partnership with Animae Caribe Animation and New Media Festival.

Free of charge.  To register please call 621.0709

FILMMAKERS’ PANELS

The Filmmakers’ Panels provide an opportunity for local, regional and international filmmakers to come together to discuss the shared experience of making films within an independent industry context.

Free and open to the public.
